Roanna has recently completed her Bachelor of Exercise Physiology, and has been practising Remedial Massage for five years. She has developed an interest in human movement with a passion for identifying the underlying causes of physical limitations.
Over her years as a remedial massage therapist, Roanna has developed an understanding of the human body, as well as the implications of musculoskeletal injuries due to poor movement patterns and muscle imbalances. This knowledge, combined with targeted exercise programming allows her to personalise treatments for an optimal outcome.
As a massage therapist Roanna has experience with athletes, including CrossFit, MMA, pole dancers and runners. She has treated women’s health concerns including pregnancy and endometriosis related symptoms. She uses a range of assessment methods to identify target muscles for treatment. Using deep tissue techniques, she can help relieve back and neck pain, headaches, reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, and improve joint mobility. Massage is also used to aid with stress relief, reduce anxiety and depression, to improve sleeping patterns, and help reduce hypertension.
As an Exercise Physiologist Roanna has experience with many chronic populations, ranging from cardiac, neuromuscular and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, through to diabetes mellitus, obesity and hypertension, as well as with those who lead active lifestyles. Her programs focus on improving function, exercise capacity, and overall quality of life.
