Steve Aktipis

Podiatrist

Steve brings a wealth of skill and experience to the clinic having worked with some of the leading podiatrists in both the public and private sector over many years.

He graduated from the University of South Australia before moving to Sydney in 2001 to run two successful private practices. Having now returned from living in beautiful Prague for the past year Steve is now focusing on passing on his podiatric knowledge to the local community and beyond.

He specialises in podiatric biomechanics and has a passion for enabling the community, ranging from the athlete to the daily walker to achieve their potential in physical development by addressing often undiagnosed biomechanical functional issues using a holistic approach.

The methods of treatments used by Steve include orthotic therapy, foot mobilisation techniques, dry needling, strapping, local anaesthesia and palliative treatment of general conditions such as painful corns, calluses, ingrown toenails etc.

The holistic approach of podiatric biomechanics provided by Steve recognises the crucial role the feet and lower limbs have on the rest of the body.

Steve’s methods of treatment allow him to provide the highest level of care for all types of foot related conditions and symptoms.

Initially, a thorough analysis of your presenting issues, their surrounding circumstances and history is established to decide the most effective and efficient treatment options.

Then analysis of your skeletal, muscular, fascial, neurological, connective tissue and joint structure/function during a biomechanical assessment will also help determine causative factors and treatment options.

At this point, the various treatment options will be discussed taking your lifestyle into account. This can vary from orthotic therapy, strapping, foot mobilisation techniques, dry needling or palliative care for more common foot lesions such as corns and callouses.

Various conditions that can be treated at our clinic include- flat feet, bunions, knock knees, painful heels, hip pain, arthritis related foot pain, corns, callouses, ingrown toenails and any other foot-related pain.

At St George health we work in a team environment to ensure you get the best possible management and the quickest and best outcomes. By combining our knowledge and skills from our wide variety of health professionals you are able to reach full recovery faster.
