Cosmetic Acupuncture

As you age, the circulation in your skin gets a little sluggish and as a result wrinkles, fine lines and age spots appear, Cosmetic Acupuncture increases the blood circulation in your skin, moving collagen and elastin back to where you want it and increasing blood flow for firmer more radiant skin. It also allows for the muscles to relax as we present with tension on our face via lines.

This is done by the energy meridians of Chinese medicine carrying energy around the body from head to toe. This circulation of energy is vital to health and well-being. The meridians connect to organs of the body, so if there is a health problem with any organ it becomes clearly visible in the face.

When should I have treatment?

Treatment can be started at any age. In your late twenties/early thirties, treatment can prevent the signs of ageing. Later in life, it may take longer for the body to come back into harmony, but the benefits are immense, not just for your facial appearance, but for your overall health.

How many treatments will I need?

A series of 10-12 treatments is recommended. One to two treatments per week is recommended if you are starting to notice fine lines or other minor problems, and you have no major health concerns. If you have already developed significant wrinkles or other skin issues, it is recommended that you complete 15 treatments.

Does it hurt?

Nope, actually, it’s relaxing! It may seem unlikely that an acupuncture treatment is relaxing but the truth is that acupuncture increases the release of endorphins, those feel-good chemicals in your brain.

Are than any negative effects?

No side effects other than the occasional bruise, which heals in less than a week, you don’t have to worry about scarring, lumps, or botched procedures. And the best part is it’s all chemical free.

Why is facial acupuncture more expensive?

Facial acupuncture uses specialised needles which are made from the highest quality surgical stainless steel. Each needle requires an individual inspection to guarantee it’s purity, with parts of the needle being hand-made. Facial acupuncture needles are thinner than regular acupuncture needles which make them gentle and painless. They are also flexible which allow for them to easily access energy point in the face.

What's involved in the consultations?

  • Consultation and skin assessment
