Why your feet are the first thing I consider.

3d gait scan

It’s crazy just how long people can put up with that limp, lopsided, weak thing…

A While back I met an 11 year old girl that had been suffering from unexplained knee, hip and back pain that both her doctor and specialist had no idea about. Her mum said “they told her to take nurofen daily and that’s all that could be done”. She was unable to play sport, was missing valuable time from school and had been suffering in tears for over 9 months. No one had considered that this all could be coming from her feet, at least not yet anyway!

You see, her problems were being caused by the way her feet functioned. Something that an Orthotic device and Osteopathy could change. In two weeks she was 95% better and within one month she no longer had any pain.

She is not alone. Through the clinic I see people every day who are suffering from pain caused by mechanical problems with their feet. Just as the footings of a building affect its integrity all the way to the top floor, your feet cause strain and load on the rest of your body.

This can cause you stiffness, pain, swelling and arthritis anywhere from head to toe. Stopping you from doing the things you love and worse, stopping you from doing the things you that you must do.

Each year in Australia, fewer than 200,000 people have hip and knee replacement surgery. I see many of these people after the surgery as they are still in pain and suffering the effects of surgical complications.

If only they had considered what correcting their feet could do to the rest of their body before it was too late. IF ONLY!!!

So when was the last time you were walking straight and with little or no pain? Imagine living life with less stiffness and better movement.

Would you like to be able to exercise again without pulling up sore and stiff? What would you do first?

That’s where Gait Scan technology and St George Health can help. We have invested in innovative technology from that uses pressure sensors to measure and monitor your foot walking and standing still.

This takes an extremely accurate scan of your foot and then collects data to make a prescription orthotic device specific to your needs, to be worn in your shoes.

Using the Gait Scan system is simple and it can determine the need for an orthotic device. It takes just two weeks to receive the orthotics and to start to feel better.
